| Lunch Post-Gardner Museum Visit |
Join your fellow BSLUGS as we check out the much acclaimed Renzo Piano-designed wing at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. We'll have plenty of time to also visit the gorgeous courtyard gardens and world-renown surrounding galleries. Afterwards at 1 p.m., we'll have lunch nearby at the Squealing Pig.
The 70,000 square foot new wing "incorporates ample glazed surfaces, bringing plenty of natural light to the open, interior gallery spaces, as well as allowing for uninterrupted views to the historic building and surrounding gardens." (see Euginie Kwan, 1/17/12)
If you've been waiting for the right time to see what all the hoopla has been about, this is it!
WHEN: Sunday, April 22, 11 a.m.
WHERE: Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (280 The Fenway, Boston, MA) http://www.gardnermuseum.org/home/
COST: $7.50 per adult for museum entrance. (Cost for children under 18 is free. College students with valid student ID is $5.) Lunch is pay your way.
To purchase $7.50 adult tickets, please send check made out to: Beata Panagopoulos and send to 28 Maple Ave., Apt. 3, Cambridge, MA 02139-1130. (I'll be purchasing them elsewhere because at the museum they cost 15 bucks)
Obviously, if you have your own pass and would still like to join us, just let me know so we can all meet together. An email with a more detailed plan of where to meet, etc. will be sent to all who RSVP.
