It was a beautiful early summer day. Maria had prepared a fantastic feast of sandwich fixings, cookies and drinks. We lounged around on the grass, watching wedding parties get their photos taken in front of the gristmill and watched one actual wedding in it's brief entirety. We also witnessed the arrival of Lee, the Horselogger, escorted by the police down Wayside Inn Road. Lee has ridden his horse-drawn covered wagon from Montana to Boston?! So, that was quite a sight. We visited the miller in the Gristmill, who explained how the mill works. And then, we meandered over to the tavern and had a great glass of Wayside Inn draught beer over great conversation.
